Eid Mubarak!
With Eid comes great responsibility and many triggers of Menopausal symptoms triggered mostly by stress, I’m here to help you cope with Eid stress and to a certain extent help you deal with Menopause smoothly through the Eid holidays. Did you know that the beautiful festival of Eid can actually become dreadful if the symptoms of Menopause are not addressed to properly? Of course, you do! You have been there!
It’s very common for women with menopause to experience higher frequency of hot flushes than normal if they are exposed to increasing levels of stress that go into Eid preparations as well as a change in the dietary routine when you shift from fasting for a month to suddenly eating rich food on Eid, which we all tend to do.
This physical and mental stress is a major trigger of hot flushes! When in stress, a hot flush is the body’s response or rather its attempt to cool down. Here are a few of my tips to make sure you enjoy Eid along with your family!
1. Meditate
On the 1st day of Eid, take time to meditate. Meditation can help you deal with stress more effectively. Stress is actually one of the major factors in triggering hot flushes. Meditation not only keeps mental stress away but also induces physical balance which greatly helps in Menopause.

2. Avoid extreme environmental temperature changes
When you are shopping for Eid supplies, clothes, groceries etc. Make sure you wear comfortable clothes that allow you to stay cool when you go in and out of the mall. The extremes of temperature that come with dashing in and out of shops, or in and out of the kitchen on Eid itself, contributes to kickstarting a hot flush.
3. Avoid Caffeine
while we’re all so busy, you might not think that there’s any harm in consuming an extra cup of coffee to give you an energy boost, but caffeine is a hot flush trigger too. Make a healthy smoothie with the Bioglan SuperFoods Powders, these will keep you energized, keep lethargy away and even help you keep your system clean!
4. Avoid Sweets and Increase fiber intake
this will keep you off the edge and we need to make sure that we do that this Eid. Make the body adapt slowly from fasting mode to normal mode by adding fibers to your diet. Consume a tablespoon of Kiva Chia Seeds (soaked in water) to keep your digestive system boosted!
Most importantly, make Eid count this year, with all what’s happened in the past year it’s important to be grateful and most importantly be happy. Have an awesome Eid!
